Buckles was originally conceived to meet the research objectives of founder William Graham’s efforts to portray complex ecological data. Each analysis required the creation of a new visualization tool set. The building of the visualization tools always took longer than the actual data analysis.

Buckles proprietary software was created to provide configurable, modularized, and reusable information visualization systems.
